The result is a 250G Over Lock Textured Thread that feels gentle against the skin, drapes naturally, and offers superior stretch recovery. Whether you are manufacturing high-fashion apparel, heavy-duty bags, upholstery, or industrial textiles, this thread delivers consistent stitch formation and long-term durability.

The thread runs perfectly on high-speed overlocking (serger) and cover seaming machines, including brands like Juki, Brother, Pegasus, and Yamato.

Actual performance testing

All the tests in this round were completed under the factory's mass production conditions, benchmarking against the real production and post-use scenarios of large-scale clothing, luggage, and home textile factories. The data were obtained through multiple batch sampling and actual measurement, and possess commercial reference value.

1. Continuous production adaptation test

Adapted to mainstream Japanese and Taiwanese high-speed sewing and tensioning equipment, conducting an 8-hour uninterrupted continuous sewing test. The overall thread path is smooth, without heat accumulation, no stalling, and no continuous breakage issues. It is suitable for high-density lock stitching and multi-layer overlapping sewing processes. Compared to ordinary expanded thread, 250G Over Lock Textured Thread has higher thread path stability, effectively reducing the frequency of production stoppage and debugging, and suitable for the high-intensity operation rhythm of clothing factories' assembly lines.

2. Fabric adhesion and pinhole filling test

Carried out actual tests on lock stitching for various types of fabrics such as knitted elastic fabric, woven workwear fabric, luggage Oxford fabric, and home textile fabric. The unique air-expanded fiber structure can naturally fill the sewing pinholes, with a dense and tight lock stitching pattern, no holes, no sparse stitches, and neat and uniform finished thread paths, eliminating common process flaws such as skipping stitches, missing seams, and white needle positions, significantly improving the appearance qualification rate of finished products.

3. Dynamic stretching, rebound, and durability test

Simulated daily stretching, bending, and close-pressing dynamic scenarios of clothing, conducting 5000 times of repeated stretching cycle tests. The thread response to stretching is uniform, the rebound and reset speed is stable, and there are no issues such as loose thread paths, local wrinkling, or bulging at the sewing position. It perfectly meets the sewing requirements of high-stretch sports clothing, elastic waistbands, and close-fitting underwear with frequent deformation.

4. Surface friction wear resistance test

Carried out reciprocating friction tests using a standard fabric wear tester, while simulating the daily washing and friction wear scenarios of finished clothing. The expanded surface fiber structure is stable, not prone to shedding, scattering, or delamination, and the lock stitching position remains firm even after long-term use, without local broken or detached stitches, meeting the long-term durability standards for clothing and luggage.

5. Batch color consistency test

Sampled and compared multiple batches of the same color thread materials, calibrated color differences using professional spectrophotometric color measurement equipment. The color difference in batch production is controlled within the industry's advanced standards. After finished sewing, the same type of clothing and luggage have no color discontinuity, and large-scale orders can achieve zero color difference implementation, meeting the standardized mass production requirements of brands.

6. Long-term storage stability test

After being stored in a dry environment at room temperature for 36 months and sampled for testing, the thread showed no brittleness, hardening, or moisture-induced lumping. The thread path, elasticity, and tensile strength performance were consistent with the new thread. The inventory tolerance rate was high, suitable for factory batch inventory.

Key Performance Advantages

Exceptional Softness & Smoothness

The thick-and-thin sections create micro-air pockets along the thread surface. This not only reduces friction against needles and fabric but also gives the finished seam a plush, non-scratchy feel—ideal for children's clothing, underwear, and sportswear.

High Elasticity & Recovery

Textured polyester inherently offers better stretch than flat filament threads. JOHNSON® threads recover quickly after being stretched, preventing loose or puckered seams in knit fabrics. This makes them perfect for activewear, leggings, and elasticated waistbands.

Bulk Without Weight

The textured structure provides a "bulky" appearance, which fills needle holes and seam grooves more effectively than conventional threads. This results in cleaner, more professional overlock seams with fewer skipped stitches.

Color Consistency & Fastness

Every batch is produced under strict spectrophotometric control in our in-house dyeing facility.

Why Choose JOHNSON® Brand

A. We Own Our Factory – No Middlemen

JOHNSON® is not a trading company. We operate a vertically integrated production facility in China, covering everything from polymer extrusion to texturing, twisting, dyeing, and winding. By eliminating intermediaries, we offer factory-direct pricing, faster lead times, and full traceability.

B. Advanced Air-Texturing Technology

Most competitors use simple false-twist texturing, which produces a harsh, wiry feel. JOHNSON® employs dual-nozzle air texturing systems, creating random loops and slubs that mimic the hand of cotton but with polyester's strength. This technology is protected by our in-house engineering team.

E. Customized Solutions

Because we control every step, we can tailor:

  • Tex size (from ultra-fine TEX 20 to heavy TEX 80)
  • Twist level (S, Z, or low-twist for maximum softness)
  • Lubricant type (dry, semi-dry, or silicone-free for sensitive fabrics)
  • Cone size and packaging (cardboard cones, plastic spools, or dye tubes)

How to Use JOHNSON® Textured Overlocking Thread

  1. Machine setup – Use standard overlock needles (size 70–90) and standard loopers. No special modifications required.
  2. Tension adjustment – Start with lower tension than you would for spun threads. The bulkiness of textured thread seals seams with less thread tension, preventing seam grin.
  3. Threading – Follow your machine's standard diagram. JOHNSON® thread glides easily through pigtails and tension discs.
  4. Storage – Keep cones in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Unused cones can be stored for up to 3 years without degradation.

Factory Tour & Quality Assurance

As a manufacturer with our own 25,000 m² facility, we welcome customers to audit our production lines. Our operations include:

  • Spinning line – Produces POY (partially oriented yarn) from virgin chips
  • Air texturing – 24 high-speed texturing machines with online tension control
  • Twisting & plying – Two-for-one twisters for balanced thread construction
  • Dyeing house – 12 package dyeing autoclaves with computerized recipe management
  • Winding & packaging – Automated cone winders with clear vision detectors
